WELCOME TO CHESTER SINFONIA

Are you interested in joining a group of musicians who meet once a fortnight in Barrow

Chester Sinfonia is an amateur orchestra that aims at a friendly approach to its music making and a high musical standard.

The orchestra meets fortnightly at Barrow Village Hall, near Chester, Cheshire. Rehearsals start at 7pm, under the baton of its conductor Andrew Edwards. We play symphonies and other works by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Faure, Elgar, Dvorak and Mendelssohn, etc. It is envisaged that there will be further concerts in due course.

We are currently looking for a for leader and principal cello who will need to be talented and experienced orchestral players.  There is also a vacancy for a second bassoon. We are seeking more string players to build the string sections.

We ask members to please provide their own music which can easily be downloaded from IMSLP. The charge per session is £2. Please bring your own refreshment for the short mid session break.
