Are you interested in joining a group of musicians who meet once a fortnight in Barrow?

The orchestra meets fortnightly at Barrow Village Hall, near Chester, Cheshire. Rehearsals start at 7pm, under the baton of Andrew Edwards. We play symphonies by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert and Mendelssohn etc. which are suitable for the size of the orchestra.

Anyone who wants to have a go at this music is welcome, with the proviso that there is no doubling of woodwind or brass parts, so please contact us regarding vacancies in these instruments. We currently need more violinists and viola players and are looking for double bass players. We also need a second oboe. Please bring your own refreshment for the short rehearsal break .

We ask members to please provide their own music which can easily be downloaded from IMSLP.

The current pieces are:

Bizet Symphony in C      Dvorak Czech Suite        Haydn Symph. no.104 London
