Would you like to join a group of musicians, a mix of amateurs and professionals, who meet once a fortnight in Chester? We are a friendly group and are looking to increase our string sections in particular.
We meet fortnightly at St Thomas of Canterbury Church Hall, Parkgate Road, Chester, CH1 4AG. Rehearsals are on Friday evenings and run from 7.00 to 9.30 pm with a short break. Our conductor is Andrew Edwards and we play symphonies and other works by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Faure, Elgar, Dvorak and Mendelssohn, etc. We aim to give two concerts a year with a professional soloist
There are currently vacancies for string players, a second bassoon and a timpanist. Players need to be of a minimum standard around grade 6/7. There is no audition. Just turn up and give it a go !
We ask members to please provide their own music which can easily be downloaded from IMSLP. The charge per session is £3.

We would like to thank everyone, including our soloists, who helped make our first concert a success enabling us to raise £700. All instruments, including some that were kindly donated, have now been sent.
We held a Beethoven Day on Sunday 26th November 2017. It was enjoyed by all.! Pics. on gallery page.
