WELCOME TO CHESTER SINFONIA

We are a group of enthusiastic amateur musicians who meet once a fortnight in Chester.

Our rehearsals are at St Thomas of Canterbury Church Hall, Parkgate Road, Chester, CH1 4AG, on Friday evenings and run from 7.00 to 9.30 pm with a short break. Our repertoire consists of symphonies and other works which are suitable for a small orchestra.

We would love to have more string players and also a second bassoon. There is no audition, just turn up and give it a go !

We do ask members to provide their own music which can easily be downloaded free of charge from IMSLP. The charge per session is £3. Our venue in Chester is easily accessible by car and has good parking.

We are pleased to welcome our conductor Helen Thomas. The current repertoire is as follows:

1) Beethoven 12 Contra Dances WoO 14

Available here  https://imslp.org/wiki/12_Contredanses%2C_WoO_14_(Beethoven%2C_Ludwig_van)

2) Mendelssohn Nocturne No. 7  only from A Midsummer Night's Dream

We also held a Beethoven Play Day in November 2017 which was enjoyed by all.! Pics. on gallery page.
